Diagraphy Drilling |
The main objective of this method of investigation is to provide real-time continuous monitoring of the drilling parameters used in the drilling process to help evaluate the sub-surface and help locate possible natural fractures, loose pockets or cavities. The diagraphy monitoring system used by AHAM is the APAGEO EXPLOFOR 2 which consists of a series of pressure sensors installed on a conventional drilling rig connected to a data acquisition system to collect real-time data automatically for the drilling parameters monitored. The following drilling parameters are usually monitored:-
- Advance Rate
- Water Pressure
- Feed Pressure
- Rotation Pressure
Prior to the drilling operations, a calibration run is carried out in air and water in order to assess the rotation pressure, the feed pressure, and advance rate of the head in very loose ground or cavities. This serves as a guide in identifying very loose ground or cavities during the drilling operations below ground level. |
